That year, family and friends placed orders so that they could have her ham for Noche Buena. And so what began as a culinary endeavor became a Cottage industry.
SLERS, an acronym of her children’s names, became her brand name. The venture started with two workers; today, it is an organization that employs about 100 men and women.
By maintaining the quality and excellence of its ham and other meat products, the production and reputation of SLERS grew, and today, it is a household name and a favorite pasalubong of visitors to Cagayan de Oro.
Today, SLERS is a dynamic organization looking to expand present products and markets. It has branched out into the Quick Service Restaurant Industry with SLERS Expressmeals, and into the Pasalubong Kiosk Industry with SLERS Picapica.
